Reading this between meetings turned out to be the most useful thing I did all afternoon, and a stop at blpawards kept that productivity feeling going, content can sometimes outperform actual work in terms of what gets accomplished mentally and this site managed that today which is genuinely a high bar to clear consistently.
Solid quality, the kind of work that holds up to a careful read rather than a quick skim, and a quick look at urbanbuyingdestination kept that standard going strong, content that rewards attention rather than punishing it is something I appreciate more and more these days online across nearly every topic I follow.
Decided to write a short note to the author if there is contact info anywhere, and a stop at xalirobond extended that intention, the urge to thank the writer directly is a strong signal of content quality and this site has triggered that urge in me today which is a fairly rare event for my reading.
A piece that read as if the writer was thinking carefully rather than just typing fluently, and a look at getdianefarr continued that considered quality, the difference between fluent typing and careful thinking shows up in writing and this site reads as the product of thought rather than just the product of language fluency apparently.
OK — been on this thing for about six months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me a few days back. I’m based in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, small stakes, for context.
What got me on it was genuinely pretty stupid — I could never figure out what an ew payout actually came to when the place terms changed. Basically I’d eyeball it and get a shock. Now punch the numbers in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — type in the price and your stake and it spits out returns with no faffing, either odds format. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — trebles maths, lucky 15s, yankees, which is where I’d always got it wrong. If you want a look, it’s over at betting probability — free, no signup.
One thing that genuinely changed how I bet was the more serious extras. The odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious the overround, and there’s the kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is decent if I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. The design looks pretty plain — no frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s usable although the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. There’s nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — slight shame just flagging it.
Anyway. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saved me a load of arguments with the bookie.
