Reading this gave me a small refresher on something I had partially forgotten, and a stop at ulvirocore extended the refresher, content that strengthens existing knowledge rather than just adding new is content with a particular kind of consolidating value and this site is providing that consolidating function across multiple visits.
Came away with a slightly better mental model of the topic than I started with, and a stop at almostfashionablemovie sharpened that further, content that improves the reader thinking apparatus rather than just dumping facts into it is the rare kind I genuinely value and seek out when I have time to read carefully.
Now planning a longer reading session for the archives, and a stop at xelariounion confirmed the archives are worth that longer commitment, sites with archives I want to read deliberately rather than just sample are rare and this one has clearly earned that level of interest based on the consistency of what I have already read.
Bookmark earned and folder updated to track this site separately, and a look at pelix confirmed the folder upgrade was the right call, organising my reading list so that good sites do not get lost in a sea of casual bookmarks is something I do more carefully now and this site warranted its own spot.
So — been on this thing for maybe a few months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me the other day. Am UK based, mainly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, for context.
How I found it was genuinely pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever figure out what an e/w return actually was when the place terms changed. I used to just wing it and then be surprised. Now punch the numbers in before every slip, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I use most — you drop in your stake, the odds and it spits out the return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the multiples — acca and treble maths, a lucky 15, yankees, and that’s where I always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at acc calculator — free, no signup.
What really changed how I bet is the nerdier extras. They’ve got an implied probability thing that shows what margin’s baked in, and a kelly calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. Dutching calculator is decent if I’m splitting a race.
It’s not perfect mind. The layout looks pretty plain — not much frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s usable but the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no proper app, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.
Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. If you still adds it up in their head, give it a go — it’s saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
