Right — have been messing about with this thing for about four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d write something up since a mate asked me last week. I’m based in the UK, mainly bet football and racing, nothing mad, for context.
What got me on it was actually a bit daft — I could never get my head round what an e/w return would be once you get five places instead of three. I’d just wing it and get a shock. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the bit I open most — type in stake and odds and you get returns straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the bigger stuff — trebles returns, lucky 15s, yankees, which is where I’d always mess it up. The thing that genuinely made a difference were the nerdier tools. The odds-to-probability thing that shows what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly calculator — I use half kelly because full kelly is terrifying. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit if I’m splitting a race.
It’s not perfect mind. Its layout looks very functional, let’s say — zero frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. Phone-wise it’s usable but the acca grid are a squeeze. Also there’s no app, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.
Anyway. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If you honestly does the maths on paper, have a look — saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
Refreshing change from the usual sites covering this topic, no clickbait and no padding, and a stop at almostfashionablemovie confirmed the difference, this place clearly has its own voice rather than copying the formulas everyone else uses to chase clicks online which is becoming increasingly rare these days across nearly every popular subject.
