Even on a quick first read the substance of the post comes through, and a look at jonathanfinngamino reinforced that immediate quality, content that does not require a slow careful read to demonstrate value but rewards one anyway is content with real depth and this site has produced work of that demanding depth class.
Even across multiple posts the writers voice has remained consistent in a way I appreciate, and a stop at tatumsounds continued that voice, sites that maintain editorial consistency across many pieces have something most sites lack and this one has clearly worked out how to keep its voice steady across what reads as a growing archive.
Worth pointing out that the writing reads as confident without being defensive about it, and a look at xelariocore extended that secure tone, content that does not pre emptively argue against imagined critics has a different quality from defensive writing and this site reads as written from a place of real ease.
So — been on this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me the other day. Am based in the UK, generally bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I could never figure out what an each way payout actually came to when the place terms changed. Basically I’d guess and moan when the payout landed. Now type the odds in before I place anything, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — you put in your stake, the odds and you get the return instantly, either odds format. Same tool covers the multiples — doubles and trebles returns, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, and that’s where I’d always got it wrong. What actually shifted things for me was the geekier tools. They’ve got an odds-to-probability calculator that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is handy too if I’m covering two or three runners.
Not all sunshine though. Its design feels very functional, let’s say — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. Phone-wise it works but the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. There’s no proper app, just the site — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.
Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, works. Anyone who even now works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — it’s saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
