Really clear writing, the kind that makes you want to share the link with someone who has been asking about the topic, and a quick browse through manilatakeout only made me more sure of that, the information here stays useful long after the first read is done which says a lot.
Found the writing surprisingly fresh for what is by now a well covered topic, and a stop at zurix kept that freshness going across the related pages, original perspective on familiar ground is hard to come by and this site has clearly earned its place in the conversation rather than just rehashing old ideas.
Honestly this kind of writing is why I still bother to read independent sites, and a look at adawebcreative extended that broader reflection, the few sites that justify continued attention to non algorithmic content are sites like this one and finding them periodically is enough to keep my reading habits oriented toward independent rather than aggregated content.
OK — been on this thing for something like five months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d say something since someone asked me the other day. I’m UK based, mostly stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.
The reason I started using it was genuinely pretty stupid — I could never work out what an each way return would be with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just wing it and get a shock. Now punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the part I open most — type in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — acca and treble returns, lucky 15s, a yankee, honestly that’s where most people I know got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it’s over at betting accumulator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
One thing that really made a difference were the geekier bits. The probability calculator that shows what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit if I’m covering two or three runners.
It’s not perfect mind. Its design is a bit basic — not much frills, it’s clearly function over form. On mobile it works although the acca grid are a squeeze. There’s no app, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.
So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If you even now adds it up in their head, give it a go — saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
